Poopy Scoops is an assumed name (d/b/a) of Macomb Power Washing Solutions, LLC ("Poopy Scoops," "we," "us"), which provides dog waste removal in Macomb County, MI. This policy explains what we collect when you use poopyscoopsmi.com, text or call us, or become a customer, and what we do with it. Short version: we use your information to quote and deliver our service, we never sell it, and you can opt out of marketing any time.
What we collect
- What you give us. Your name, phone number, email, service address, ZIP code, details about your dogs and yard, gate codes or notes, and anything you write in a message. For commercial requests, your organization and role. For referrals and gift requests, the name and contact details of the person you're referring or gifting.
- When you sign up. You pay on a secure checkout page run by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects your card or bank account details; we see only the type, the last four digits, and the expiration date, never the full number. We also keep a record of your agreement to our terms: which version you agreed to, when, and the IP address and browser you used, as proof of your authorization for recurring payments.
- What the website records. The page you arrived on, the site that sent you, and campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), which we attach to your request so we know which ads and flyers work. If we turn on analytics tools (Google Analytics or the Meta pixel), they collect standard usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location.
- What your browser remembers. We store a few items in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers: your quote selections so you can pick up where you left off, a prize you won, and which pop-ups you've closed so we don't show them again. If you leave the checkout page without finishing, the details you typed are kept in that browser tab (session storage) so you don't have to type them again; they're erased when you close the tab. Clearing your browser data removes all of these.
How we use it
- To give you a price, schedule and perform service, bill you, and send invoices and receipts.
- To contact you by phone, text, or email about your request or your service.
- To send occasional offers, only if you opted in, and never more than you'd want.
- To credit referrals, honor promotions and prizes, and prevent abuse of them.
- To understand which marketing works and to improve our website and service.
Text messages
If you check a box to receive texts or ask us to text you back, you agree to receive messages from Poopy Scoops at the number you provided about your quote, scheduling, visit updates (like "all done, gate latched" with a photo), billing, and, if you opted in, occasional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help, or contact us at (586) 555-0142. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in data is shared only with the providers that deliver our texts, and only so they can deliver them.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the business, under their own privacy and security obligations: our website host and form processor (Netlify), our payment processor (Stripe), our customer management and scheduling system, our text-messaging and email providers, and analytics providers if enabled. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or property, or as part of selling or merging the business (the new owner would be bound by this policy).
Referrals and gifts
When you refer a friend or send a gift, please only share contact details of people who would welcome hearing from us. We contact them about the referral or gift and nothing else unless they become a customer or opt in.
How long we keep it
We keep customer records for as long as you're a customer and for a reasonable period afterward for taxes, accounting, and warranty questions. Requests that don't turn into service are deleted or anonymized within about two years.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send payment card numbers through our forms or texts; we'll send you a secure payment link instead.
Your choices
- Opt out of texts by replying STOP, or of emails with the unsubscribe link.
- Ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@poopyscoopsmi.com or texting (586) 555-0142. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Block or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The site still works; it just won't remember your quote.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
