Village lots and farm country
Armada is a small village with township farm country all around it, and this page covers both. The 2020 Census counted 5,318 people in Armada Township, village included, and 1,684 of them in the village itself.

Where Armada dogs roam
Armada Township Park, on North Avenue behind the Senior Center, has ball fields, a playscape, a skate park and a small path down to the East Branch of Coon Creek. It's open April through the end of September. Under the township's parks ordinance, dogs need a leash no longer than six feet, and you pick up before you leave.
The Macomb Orchard Trail also runs through Armada on its 24-mile route between Shelby Township and Richmond. Macomb County asks that pets stay leashed and that you bring bags. The yard is where your dog finally gets to relax, and where we come in.

Two kinds of yards
Armada has village lots in town and larger parcels out in the township, where ordinances protect open space and farmland.
So pricing works two ways. Up to an acre and up to four dogs, you'll get your price online in about 30 seconds. More than an acre, or more than four dogs, and we'll send a custom quote. A single dog on a village lot often does fine every other week, while bigger packs and bigger yards usually need weekly or twice a week. Coon Creek country
East Branch Coon Creek runs through the village and past Armada Township Park, and Coon Creek, Tupper Brook and the North Branch of the Clinton River cross the township too. All of them are part of the North Branch system.
The state has set an E. coli cleanup target, called a TMDL, for East Branch Coon Creek. You can't fix a creek from your backyard, but you can make sure your dog's share goes into a bag instead of downstream. Scoop regularly, and there's less for the rain to carry off.
The local rule: In the village, pick up after your dog anywhere off your own property, and don't let waste build up at home until it smells or draws insects. In the township, pick up right away anywhere other than where your dog is kept, and before you leave a township park.
