A growing township with a lot of lawn
Macomb Township added more than 12,000 residents between 2010 and 2020, and about nine in ten occupied homes here are owner-occupied. If one of those yards belongs to your dog, we can keep it clean.

Where Macomb Township dogs roam
Macomb Township's dog park is at Pitchford Park, 49699 Romeo Plank Road. It has a 1.4-acre big-dog area and a 0.3-acre small-dog area, and members get in with a key tag from dawn to dusk.
For leashed walks, Macomb Corners Park on 25 Mile Road has a 1-mile walk/run trail, and Waldenburg Park on 21 Mile Road has a walking trail with pavilions along it. Want something wilder? The 26 Mile Road Nature Preserve has a nature trail of about seven-tenths of a mile, though the preserve closes for winter. Township code keeps dogs on a leash of six feet or less in parks, with a bag on hand. Pets also sit out organized events, so check the schedule before a game-day stroll.

Full houses, busy yards
Macomb Township households average 2.9 people, per Census figures, and the township keeps an HOA resources page for its many subdivision associations. A full house can mean a busy yard.
One dog can usually go every other week. Add a second dog, or kids who treat the yard as a playground, and weekly or twice-a-week visits make more sense. Yards up to an acre with up to four dogs get a price online; larger lots or bigger packs get a custom quote. We scoop year-round, including whatever is sitting on top of the snow.
The North and Middle Branches of the Clinton
Two branches of the Clinton River cross Macomb Township. The North Branch flows south through it, and the Middle Branch flows east. Both join the main river in Clinton Township, and the Clinton River empties into Lake St. Clair in Harrison Township.
The township's stormwater page points out that stormwater isn't cleaned before it reaches local waterways, so pet waste that washes off lawns and driveways goes in untreated. Scooping on a schedule keeps it out of that runoff.
